In the structured class programme of the Kids & Teens Dance Club the following dances are being taught over time:  Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz in Ballroom and the Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive, Paso Doble in Latin. Most importantly children learn how to move while having fun. Each child’s ability and progress are being frequently assessed, and the class level and the focus are modified as needed. This results in progressive learning for the children. While the children gain correct Basic technique, great posture and poise, the teachers make sure it's fun, exciting and the children grow in their confidence, abilities and coordination.

Children take part in performances for the families and they have opportunities to take Medal tests assessed by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and to take part in dance competitions.

Shoes

Non-sticky shoe soles are important.  Canvas shoes with suede soles or Jazz dance shoes with Suede Full Sole are a good start (the heel needs to be covered with suede), later Ballroom dance shoes are recommended (low heels, children shoe sizes 7, 8, 9 with 3/4” = 1.9cm, then up to 12 years a maximum of 1.2" = 3.05cm).

Clothes

- Skirted leotards, T-shirts or leotards

- Skirts, long bootcut jazz pants, stretchy trousers or leggings

- Ankle socks

- Enter the class with a zip hoodie in case it's needed and consider bringing a dry T-shirt and a track suit bottom for after the class, to get ready quickly.

Hair should be worn away from the face (longer hair in a bun, ponytail or braid, medium long hair with a head band).
