Sergio is a Ballroom and Latin dance professional and teacher qualified with both ISTD and IDTA. Teaching since 1998, Sergio has experience teaching both adults and children, from social dancers to competitors and of course wedding couples.
Originally from Portugal, Sergio began his dancing career at the age of 11 and soon fell in love with the many rhythms that Ballroom and Latin dancing have to offer. He began his competitive career at the age of 15 and had great success winning many competitions in Portugal. From that moment dancing became his first passion. Shortly after graduating in Clinical Psychology, Sergio decided to move to London in 2008 to further his career, competing and also teaching dancing full time.
Together with his dance partner Jonathan, Sergio won the Pink Juke Box Trophy in 2011 and 2012 and made history when they became the only same-gender couple to ever participate in professional competitions, dancing side by side with the best dance couples in the world.
